Cheat’s guide to clear skin
A sudden breakout doesn’t have to break the bank
Searching for that flawless complexion? Have in mind, that using the wrong product can aggravate your skin and send you shopping for extra face fixers.
1 Know your skin type
It's easy to be confused about your skin type. Your problem could be due to hormones, stress or diet. You're doing your skin - and your purse - a disservice if you use the wrong products.
2 Pick your products
If there's one expensive moisturiser you love, save money by using a less expensive cleanser. Read the instructions carefully: there's no point doubling up on cleanser, or exfoliating for longer than necessary. For spot-prone skin, use a cleanser, a clay mask to absorb excess oil, a non-aggressive exfoliator and a light, hydrating moisturiser. See our Elea Derma Clar Line.
3 Cleanse well
If you're lazy about your cleansing routine, dirt and debris will build up and block your pores, but if you over-cleanse, you can dry out your skin. Look for ingredients to prevent spots, such as rosemary, tea tree and salicylic acid. Alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs) are mild enough in exfoliators, and if you're worried about ageing, spend a little extra on a moisturiser with UV protection, such as Sun Protection Cream for Oily & Mixed Skin "Elea" SPF 25.
4 Don't give up
Be patient - no product will give you a completely clear complexion instantly. But a good product will make your skin feel good from the first application. Wait at least a week before you start to see results; your skin should feel less oily and much fresher. Give your product time to work its full magic as well - say 28 days.
